‘Business-Connected’ is a practitioner network that brings schools, colleges, providers and employers together to share ideas, resources and opportunities for working collectively to prepare young people for life after they leave the Education System. A good practice framework is the shared point of interest and is a grass-roots response to Government guidance that:
‘Schools should consider a range of wider careers activities such as engagement with local employers … Schools are free to determine the most appropriate forms of engagement …’
The framework is ‘open source’ and inclusive of programmes delivered by local authorities, major employers and specialist providers, as well as schools’ own initiatives and curriculum strategies. It poses some challenging questions and the network provides opportunities to find answers.
